THE GADGET IN MIND TAKE

A logical step up for shortcut-heavy calling. Confirm V2 hardware and the required dongles before comparing it with the V65.

Consider it for

Users who regularly access several extensions or programmable calling functions.

Look elsewhere for

Buyers assuming Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are integrated or accessories are included.

What still needs checking

Review refers to X4U V2 documentation. Fanvil revisions and accessories differ. Confirm V2 hardware, supported firmware and whether any Bluetooth / Wi-Fi dongle is included.

Manufacturer platform features and exact seller configurations are different things. “Supplied listing” identifies details taken from the title supplied to us.

Reasons to consider

  • Second display for programmable shortcuts
  • More SIP registrations than the X3U Pro
  • PoE and gigabit network support

Trade-offs to weigh

  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi require supported accessories
  • More functions create more provisioning choices
  • SIP account count is not a guarantee of provider call capacity

THE OFFICE PERSPECTIVE

Pay for controls you use

The additional display is the most practical reason to compare this with the X3U Pro. Our assessment is that visible extension or function shortcuts can be useful for a desk handling frequent transfers. They are less valuable when someone mostly answers a single line.

Check the revision and accessories

The supplied offer says V2, which should be verified on the actual hardware. Fanvil’s V2 documentation describes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi using supported dongles. Include those accessories in the comparison cost if wireless features are required; do not compare the handset price alone with the V65.

Validate the call workflow

The provider needs to support the chosen model and firmware. Ask about programmable keys, busy-lamp indication and the exact transfer behaviour required by staff. We have not tested those functions, audio quality or headset operation on this phone.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Three checks worth making.

  1. Verify V2 hardware and provider-supported firmware
  2. Check whether required dongles are included or extra
  3. Pilot programmable keys, transfers and headset use
